Great Location

We stayed here 4 nights at the end of July/beginning of August. The sites are a little confusing to figure out which electrical and water sources belong to your site. They have a water source with two spigots and power box with two plug ins in the middle of certain spots. It looks like someone ran over our water source because the pole was bent and when we hooked up water kept shooting out of the sides.
There are bathrooms and showers lo are near the office. There is also a pool near the entrance. The office has a small store and cafe that serves breakfast.
The winds are extremely strong! We had a camper on our outside when we first got there but they moved and the camper was rocking one afternoon.

My husband and I are doing a cross country trip. The review on this site got me to use this camp ground. Everything work but, there was no TV, Wifi, and the grounds were poorly kept!

Looked at the campground in the park. Strange set up and no hook ups. For a few extra bucks go to this campground just outside the park. Not a resort, but electric, water, showers, dump station, picnic tables, fire rings and WiFi.

Our September cost was $31 per night with military discount. Clean bathrooms with good shower heads. My RV pad wasn't very level; both front tires were in the air. All in all, though, the fair price made it worthwhile. I recommend them as a good value.

People running the campground were extremely helpful and friendly. Campgrounds were well maintained and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here to ride out the snow and cold using the electricity to run my fireplace...stayed at the National park one night and this park is by far a better deal...using my Good Sam discount, my site in April 2017 was $27 a night including tax..park has water, 30/50 amp power, wifi, not sure about laundry and SHOWERS are included with the price, no coin spit showers here, also a bit more level and plenty of space between your neighbor. nice place and great views....just wish it wasn't so cold. reason for the 4 stars...could use newer picnic tables throughout most of the park, ours was sinking into the ground and was not safe to sit at. would stay here again as is only 1 mile from park.

Good alternative to overpriced Cedar Pass CG

While this is a bit of a run-down cg, they allow campfires and have free showers, unlike the National Park CG. Wifi was ok too. There are some nice views of the Badlands.

All the necessities, and right outside the NP gate. Views are wonderful, and a back road goes all along the back of Badlands.
Some sites are full hookup, others not, and not all the sites are set up the same. A bit confusing. Laundry was dirty, but machines worked well. Nice fire rings with grates, and tables look new.
Was early in season and new gravel was being spread.
All in all, a good value for the proximity to the park and the views. And so quiet!

“Cedar Pass Lodge” campground. Very scenic! All sites are pull along, some with electric, some not. They are currently under construction in areas all over the park. Water & dump station available. Shade picnic tables at each site. Senior State park pass discount. Right on the loop for the badlands. Did not use their facilities. Walking distance to gift shop/supplies/resultant.

The stones on pull thru site make leveling easy and not muddy for 37' 5th wheel. Worked well for one night stay.

Very pleasantly surprised by this remote little place. Highly preferable to the campsite near Visitors Center. Wonderfully helpful owners....good people. Our view from the last row across the back of the site was beautiful. Keep your awnings up unless you want to get up middle of night to do so in wind storm ! Stayed an extra 2 days we liked it so much.

Quiet, Clean, great location!

We stayed 2 nights with 27 Pull-behind camper. Full hook-up, all are pull thru sites on gravel drive. Nice picnic tables and fire-rings. Much nicer than NP campground just down the road. Sooo close to NP entrance that you have the Badlands view. We didn t eat at the little restaurant here but other campers said it was good. Very quiet. Would recommend.

We stayed one night and it was fine. Paid $31 with Good Sam discount for our 28ft RV with hookups, but not sewer. They have firepit, picnic tables and showers. Sunset was amazing with views of the mountain and we saw a few shooting stars. Everything outside was frozen the next morning. Would stay again.

Stayed here for two nights in June 2019. Great location, level pull thru gravel sites. Sites are very close together. Firepits are very very small. Good view of the Badlands. Paid $35 per night for 30 amp with full hookups. Did not eat in the restaurant. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. AT&T reception is decent in the park.

Great views, but could use some upgrades

Great views of the Badlands, but the park and facilities need upgrades. Sites were long, but too close together. Above ground pool was clean, so that's good.
Oh, and a staff member refused to call the police when a traffic accident occurred at their entrance, saying there was no point as it would take them 45 min to get there and someone else had probably already called anyway. I then insisted, as one car was off the road in the ditch. He finally called but ignored my input, telling the dispatcher he didn't know anything about it, while I stood there trying to relay info he ignored. Grrr! Luckily, everyone was okay and a volunteer fireman, who happened to be driving by, stopped to help.

The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and the water was HOT!! Folks running the camp ground are very friendly. We stayed in #4, right across from office, bathrooms and laundry. 4 washing machines and two dryers, could use some upgrading..but did the job!
The entrance to the Badlands is so convenient. Wagon Wheel was the 'happening' place, but their buffalo burger was mighty dry.

So, we now understand why the name of this town is "Interior". Welcome to the Badlands. Absolutely fantastic views in many directions. Adequate amenities including a store and an above ground pool, popular with the kids.

We are on a cross country quest and our stay here was excellent. We stayed a week seeing Badlands National Park, surrounding area, Rapids City, Mount Rushmore, etc, The staff were friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this campground
