Beautiful
By user-5416085... on 2017-10-23.
The park is well kept and beautiful with plenty of shade trees and scenic value. I only had 2 small issues. The first is that the park is not paved at all, which wasn't an issue for our visit, but if it rains it will be a huge mess. The second was you have limited cell connection and no Internet at the site. You end up having to go in to town (about a mile or so from the park) to connect to the outside world.

Love it here. Quiet and naturally beautiful. But miss internet, it is how we manage everything.

Pricie but nice
By user-5620841... on 2018-03-14.
Right on the water with a huge clean beach. Up to date bathroom with shower too. Could be middy on the rain, bit we didn't have any. 2-3 bars on Verizon if one needs it. At $58...68with tax, it seems high for a state park. But I must say the location is excellent. And if you like to walk the beach for shells... You will have a blast!

Excellent Beach State Park

Great park, off-season, very few campers, only about 30% occupied on Sunday. Baech is beautiful and we have it almost all to ourselves. Our dog is having a blast. Looks like upgrades made to the electrical offering 50, 30 and 120. Bathrooms/showers are older but well maintained and very clean. Staff was very nice. Great place for longer stays in off-season. I imagine its probably crowded in summer. Note: a couple sites get a little swampy when it rains.

Campground and beach are family and dog friendly! Beach sites within 50-75 yards of the ocean. Bathhouses clean, showers were nice with plenty of hot water. Water is slightly salty, so bring drinking water or plan on double filtering water. Pricey, but that is the cost of being almost on the beach. Will be back!

Sites are shaded and close together, they look bigger in the pictures. Make sure to have potable water the water here is drinkable but very salty, the showers only have curtains no locking doors. The beach is not near by if you don't have a tow car it is at least a 20min walk and dump station is located outside of the parks.

Great park, will return
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
We enjoyed a 4 night stay in the Live Oak Campground. Although our site was fairly private and easy to get into it did back onto the main road approaching Edisto Beach. Even with that, there wasn t much noise overnight. The bathhouse was clean although the shower water pressure could be a bit better. Close proximity to the beach access in the state park and the beach was clean and not crowded. We drove through the Beach campground and found the sites were close together with not a lot of privacy so we re glad we got the site in Live Oak. Nice hiking trails as well. We will definitely return and book a site in Live Oak just further away from the road.
