Did a quick overnighter there. Right on the river. Clean. Long pull through spots. Sump station near the restrooms.

Quiet place for overnight stay $15.00. There is no water in the lake but has shade. No sewer. Has 30amp service. Storm shelter near by is a plus this time of year.

Great little first come first serve campground with 17 pull thru sites with water and 30amp elec right on a lake. We just stayed for one night but could definitely stay longer and explore the cute little town. You just pay $20 at the front self serve sign. Some sites have great wi-fi and a few get satellite thru the trees.

Nice little town. Chamber of commerce stopped by and gave us a welcoming package. Grocery and liquor store right downtown. Pull throughs. Clean bathroom. Clean shower. Hot water. Dump station. Would stay again anytime.

Nice quiet out off the highway campground. Great for overnight stay. Electricity and water. Right on river. Huge shade trees

Big rig friendly, nice lake and dock, has some swings for kids and large sites. Electric box and water a bit far but doable without extension. Didn't use bathhouse. Nothing in town but a liquor store, grocery and train museum. Hays is only 12 miles away. Town did a nice job with this park.

We stayed here as a stopping off point on our way across Kansas. It was a great place to stay for the night. It has water, but only 30 amp electric. There is a dump station. At $20 for the night it was the perfect place to spend the night. There is also a Love's truck stop at the exit off of I-70 if you need that service. We stayed in a 5th Wheel.

Enjoyed our stay at Ellis Lakeside Campground VERY much. The park is very well maintained and the office personnel is friendly. Ellis is just off I-70, which is most convenient in the middle of the night. We will definitely add this campground to our favorites list.

We stayed here 1 night while traveling across Kansas on I-70. This little gem worked perfectly for a stopover following a long day of driving!! Nice flat packed gravel pull-thru sites, lots of freshly mowed grass, and huge cottonwoods lining the lake (dammed up river). We pulled in about 5pm, and had our choice of sites, but park pretty much filled up by dark (9pm). We had 30a service and water hookups, and great WiFi for the $20 self-pay fee. A few people fishing in the lake & walking dogs in the evening, but super nice and quiet! We didn't use the restroom/shower facilities, but we would HIGHLY recommend this park!! Great access for large rigs, and nice grassy sites for tent-campers, and anything in between! We walked into town, and although the town is well past it's "hey day", it is an adorable & well maintained slice of small-town America!! Wish more towns would extend the welcome mat like the City of Ellis has!! Thank you so much for your warm welcome!!

We tried to stay here with our teardrop trailer, but quickly abandoned the idea due to the apparent lack of toilets. I suppose the single stall with an out of order sign may have been a toilet, but that doesn't exactly do us any good. There were several showers, but they didn't look that great. We stayed at the nearby Days Inn instead.

I'll echo everything the previous poster said. I was especially pleased with the very fast FREE wi-fi. Huge grassy sites with picnic table on a concrete pad. Very well run. Self-check-in and pay. Free dump station, would have gotten five stars with sewer connection.

Stayed for 5 nights because of homecoming weekend in Hays. Love the park. Quiet, peaceful this time of year. Pull-thru with 50amp and water. Park has dump (no problem). Rest rooms very clean and Wi-Fi is strong. We will come back again.

Quiet place maintained by city at waters edge. The most trees we had seen in Kansas. Walkable town near Chrysler founders home, Railroad museum and park and brick streets. Nice half mile walk to IGA. We're here in January and would stop again. Geese walking on icy lake.

Only one there the first night, another RV came in the second night. What a great find. Just off a cobblestoned downtown area - apparently there are several museums including a train museum. Find brochures at the shower house. I'm pretty sure I saw a pizza place. I just needed to get off the road because of the winds and appreciated the strong wifi (cut out occasionally but came right back - literally strong as dsl I thought) and the view of the water. I will definitely make plans to stay there again when I come back through. One caveat, as a woman traveling alone it felt a little concerning to take a shower only because at the end of the road is a recycling plant and city workers and there was fairly steady traffic even when I was thinking that it was after business hours. However police do patrol and I was never bothered. Women get this though - always have to keep your guard up. Shower house was old but clean, electric sockets for blow dryer, and water was "hot enough". Super windy when I was there but fortunately the wind was coming north to south I think, same direction as the lots go, so wasn't being hit broadside. As others have mentioned - old fashioned playground, lots of shade trees, beautiful water view with a dock and boat ramp, the electric was steady and right at 120v (I used 30 amp) and there is a dump station with water. The catholic church across the river is picturesque (albeit a little ruined by the billboard protesting abortion facing the park - guess they think a lot of heathen activities are happening across the river - LOL). One edge is bordered by a neighborhood (quiet). Self serve kiosk - I didn't pay til the following morning only because I was low on checks and wasn't sure if I'd be staying one or two nights but no one questioned me. Finally, the lots before the shower house are lighted at night, the ones after are not. So pick your preference!

Stayed last part of May and again middle of July. Sites are pull through mostly shaded. Electrical and water at every other site that is shared, also 3 or 4 non-electrical sites on east end for tents. Some sites have both 50 amp and 30 amp available. The first time I stayed at a site near the wash house and the wifi was really good. The second stay was at site farther away from the wash room and the wifi would not connect. Only negative, the locals cruise through the park frequently. this is a public city park and fishing lake. The city Police also drove through the Park regularly so seemed secure and safe enough. Great place for an over night stop.

Pretty park by a creek. Pull through sites are large and didn't need to unhook. Only passing through for a place to sleep. Quiet

Easy to get to from I-70. We stayed for one night and found a nice level site. Well-lit and seems to be a safe area. Campsites face the water with pretty views. Water and electric at each site. Quiet for the most part although you may hear the trains run through town a few times. Ellis is a cute little town; the downtown area just a couple blocks away from the campground with a grocery store and laundromat. Didn't use the bath house as it was raining cats and dogs so we stayed in our RV

Did a one night stay only because the cold snowy weather was chasing us. Very clean and neat place. Self check in. No problems

City run park. $20 a night for 30 or 50 amp water site. Sites are gravel and kind of level. Real nice lake and easy access. There is a dump site on the way out. Will stay when in the area

Perfect little camping area just a few miles off the interstate. Off season was just $15 / night, water was off to the sites but power was on so that worked out fine. Convent dump station as well.

Great place! Pull thru, hookup and enjoy! Beautiful, quiet site. Stopped for one night on our way to Colorado, would have stayed for longer if there was time in our schedule.

Don t be afraid of this site. Yes it s small and no reservation but well maintained and easy access off 70. Easy drop box registration, clean bathrooms and showers, friendly campers and lovely lake. I was told that the adjacent property will soon be additional campsites.

Great little park. Wish I had time to explore the little town a bit more. Great shade. Some Canadian geese floating in the water. Awesome stop-over
