Small, quiet state park

Nice state park for those who do not need all the amenities of a full RV resort. The streets are paved, all RV sites but one are pull-through and all are heavily shaded and very level. The RV sites have twin 30 amp electrical outlets and twin water connections. There is a central dumpster for trash and a dump station. Central bathhouse has clean showers with a single washer/dryer laundry room. Bring some quarters and detergent as there is no change machine or detergent dispenser. Park has a paved boat ramp with a dock and ample trailer parking. Ranger station sells bagged ice and rents bikes, canoes and kayaks. There is a large Publix supermarket in Richmond Hill on the road to the park for last minute stocking up.

Excellent camping.

Camp Friday through Monday morning to explore Savannah. Campground is very well organized RV sites are u shape driveways with plenty of room. Comfort stations are well maintained one shower in each one one washer and dryer in each one. Camping is out on a peninsula one mile from the office and it is very quiet. I believe there is at least 5 camp hosts. We saw several deer in the park and up by the office. Visit the fort while you're there it's very interesting it's behind the camp office.

Nice camping areas, private dock and boat ramp for campers only, which is good! Marina nearby with a restaurant, publix a short drive away....always see deer in camping area.....

Very nice state park with lots to do. Fishing, hiking and kayaking just to name a few activities. We will be back.

I agree with all of the positive things people have said about this park. It is beautiful, clean, and everyone we encountered was very friendly. The park also has geocaching which was fun and got us out enjoying nature. The only warning I can offer is that you don't forget your bug spray! The no-see-ums are awful!

Sewer backs up daily! Dump station overflows poo water when you dump tanks. I've told the park rangers and camp host everyday for three days and they have done nothing about it. They don't even warn people at check in or by posting signs. Restroom at back of park has been out of commission most of the time because of sewage back up also. Camp hosts have their own hook ups so it's just a joke to them. They even referenced the RV movie where poo explodes and joke about it. They said it only does it to me, but today I watched it blow out all over when a 5th wheel dumped. I warn the people I see but I haven't seen everyone and it wasn't my plan to spend all my time wandering the park to warn people of exploding poo water.

Nice place as we stayed two nights. No sewer hookups like the rvparky app says. No showers. Otherwise very nice easy turnouts. Lots include a concrete picnic table and fire pit. Beautiful and quiet park. Lots of deer!

Large pull through sites.

Nice well kept camp ground. Large pull through sites with a nice distance between camp sites. New amenities block with laundry available. Expect visitors such as critters like deers, raccoons, armadillos and squirrels. Fire wood available.

Restful & quiet

Nice state park. Staff & camp hosts were super nice. Boating & fishing were the main activity. Small playground for kids. Dogs picked up several tiny ticks which were annoying. This was even after I sprayed dogs w flea & tick repellant. Very woodsy place. It rained cats & dogs one day creating huge puddles which dried up overnight.

This park has a lot going for it, but you will likely be impacted by the construction and disruption as they attempt to upgrade their amenities. Plan to not have redilly available bath or laundry facilities and plan on being forced to drive the wrong way on one way roads without prior warning or signs. Be forewarned, coastal GA will necissitate your dealing with lots of bugs.
