We had a really nice stay here. The spaces were plenty wide and the amenities were good. This is a good place to spend a couple of days.

Quite little camp ground
By user-5814498... on 2017-10-23.
Quite little camp ground. Easy to find just off Hwy 50 west of Dodge City. It is an older camp ground but is very clean. Has new owners who are very nice and friendly. We have family in town and this is where we will be staying in the future.

Not what we expected.
By user-6348990... on 2017-10-23.
I'm almost certain that whoever rated this from Good Sam has never camped before...the ratings this park has received are not a fair interpretation of this park.. . This park is in need of some TLC...and I mean more than just freshly cut grass. We called two weeks before we visited to confirm our reservation and ask specifically about the pool being open and the lady on the phone said yes it is. When we arrived June 1st the pool was not and from the looks of it had not been open for some time. Now i'm sure someone from the park will respond otherwise. By the way two other campers that had checked in had been told the same thing

Really nice campsite. A bit dusty and the trains and traffic are loud.

Nice Place
By user-5458427... on 2017-10-23.
Overnighter for us, but would have been fine for another day if we needed to stay in the area. Open spaces, good room to move around, level, good hook-ups.

Nice Park
By user-5804917... on 2017-10-23.
Well, I was a little leary about staying here after I read the reviews but the other RV park wasn't very "eye" appealing. So we came here and we were met with two friendly faces who checked us in (a very pleasant experience). They put us in the rear section. The roads and sites are rough gravel but, amazingly, the sites are level from side to side. We had FHU ($36 a night). Ample water pressure (60 psi). We had some road noise (jake brakes) and a train or two but nothing that bothered us. We've lived near train tracks many years, we don't hear them anymore...
We enjoyed our stay!!!

We are here now and are pleased with facility. There are a lot worse campgrounds and this one has gotten some pretty picky reviews. I would stop here again if in the area

Too expensive!
By user-5889191... on 2017-10-23.
This park is nice looking, but overpriced in my opinion. Yes, it has an ok pool - very small, nothing special, cute office, game room set up, and nicely stocked office with souvenirs, etc. Here's what put me off. The lady who took our reservation and who checked us in - don't know if it was the same person - was NOT friendly despite out nicest manners and friendly overtures. Very short & brusque. But what really got me is this woman was working among all kinds of beautiful Christian signs & merchandise...but she sure didn't act like she loved us or even liked us. Gives us Christians a bad name.
Then we learned AFTER checking in that there's no cable, as advertised, and our grandson found the game room locked. But the biggest problem was that we were sitting just outside our door with our little Bichon beside us after walking in the designated area and he suddenly became frantic. He was literally covered in sand burrs. No one warned us. The grass looked soft and green, but it was all burrs. We could not walk him - or let him outside by us, but had to carry him out and put him down only briefly because the dog walk area and site both were all burrs. They do not allow any animals to be outside in crates, etc., with owners there. We had to cut burrs from his feet. It was a gravel pad, not level. There were a few shade trees. Disappointing. We won't stay here again. Pretty is as pretty does. Hope the owner/office manager finds happiness. God bless her, but I would not recommend this park. It also has noise from train tracks & highways. (They don't take ANY discount cards and charged us $38 for 30 amp, water & sewer. )

Good place to stop

Friendly owner. Clean park (lots of toads, but not the owner's fault). Good amenities.

Great Campground
By user-6164481... on 2017-10-23.
Leaving Gunsmoke RV Park, in Dodge City, Kansas. Been here for 2 days. The sites here are gravel, but wide with cable, wifi and FHU, and a nice pool. We stayed in a pull through. Easy on and off to Hwy US 50. The owners are new and are friendly and helpful. Lots of history here and great entertainment at Boot Hill in downtown Dodge City.

Very Nice Place
By user-6347016... on 2018-03-14.
An older campground with a lot of charm. Well looked after and very friendly owners that just took over this past summer. Exceptionally clean washrooms and laundry room. Lots of pull thru sites. The Hwy and train track is close to the south side of the campground so something to be aware of when booking maybe go to the north end where we stayed and did not notice the traffic. Planned to stay two nights ended up staying three, would definitely stay again.
Note: The interpretive centre in Greensburg for the worlds largest hand dug well and the F5 tornado that destroyed the town is well worth a visit.

Great park. Very clean with friendly host would stay there again.

Very nice RVP

Stayed 2018-05-07 to 2018-05-09
Very clean and well maintained park, spaces in the back are quiet. Owners are very pleasant, easy to work with, knowledgeable of the area and willing to help. We visited the other RV parks in Dodge City and highly recommend this one over them. Easy to find at the intersection of 50 and 400 on the west side of town. We stayed here in a 43' motorhome and had plenty of space with 50 amp service ad FHU.

Stayed 2018-05-23 to 2018-05-25
The sites are long and roomy. Plenty of room between sites and no problem with the length accommodating a 40' 5th wheel and a long bed dually without hanging over on the road. Wifi was good (not secure), utilities were fine and easy to reach. In fact, each site had 2 sewer hookups to choose from in case you parked forward in the site or toward the back of the site. Our only 2 complaints were the gravel and we think it is a little overpriced. The roads and the sites were gravel with grass in between. The gravel is large stone - ankle twisters. Really didn't like that stone..... We would go back. It's a nice, neat, clean park.

Perfect overnight
By user-5920706... on 2018-07-06.
We only stayed one night and were late getting in so we did not use the amenities but looked them over. Everything was neat, the pool was very inviting and the owner was extremely nice. We were in a big RV pulling an enclosed trailer but we fit nicely into the level pull through site. Definitely use the park again.

Well maintained. Has a lot of trees which help shelter you from the wind. Located close to activities downtown. The gate to the RV park closes at 9:00 PM (8:00 PM on Sunday). Need the access code to get in after hours. Clean Restrooms and Showers. Nice pool. Free coffee. Owners live on site.

New Owners
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
It should be noted that according to the campgrounds website, "The campground was established in 1978, but the park's new owners, Kevin and Viki, took over in July, 2017."
Any reviews prior to 07/17 should probably be ignored. I plan to stay here in May 2019 and will leave a review then.

Day by Day
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
This is a nice little party, the owner are very nice and will help with any information you need. It is very clean and quiet, it is near the hwy so you get some hwy noise and you will hear the trains from time to time. No much on over the air TV, I saw cable on at the site ,but doesn't work, maybe the owner should have it fix and offer beter TV. WiFi was slow and would be intermediate. All in all it is a nice stop for a night or two. There is a lot to see in Dodge City itself.

Very nice park. Just the weather wasn t nice. Rain and tornado warnings. Owners very informative with info regarding things to see and do in the area. However, due to the weather, we had to get the heck out of Dodge! They have no control over the weather.

Nice Place!
By user-6382571... on 2019-08-09.
Owners are well organized. Have a sheet to give you with the park layout, gate code, Wi-Fi password, etc. Only stayed one night so we didn't use the facilities, but the rest of the park was very clean.

Good stop for convenience to everything

We could see the Boot Hill Casino from our RV, the golf course (Mariah Hills) very close and only a few miles to the Boot Hill Museum.
Weather was nasty when we were there, so we didnt do alot of sightseeing. The Casino offers very good promotions, we ate 4 meals for less than $20 total. Food was good too, steaks were excellent.
The managers could pay a bit more attention to the bathrooms, they were fairly clean. Hot water is patchy if anyone else is shpwering or using laundry.
We will go again if our route takes us this way, but won't stay so long.

Nice but.....
By user-5918728... on 2019-08-09.
This is a nice park. The couple who run it are kind and welcoming. Its clean but ...
They are selling so cut backs are evident. No cable dead grass and closed sites. However this is nice.
