Who plugged in the info?

Beautiful spot and friendly people. Only electricity at site. No water, wifi, cable tv. I can do without all of them but going back out to fill the tanks was a pain at the end of the day. They need to edit their page.

Stayed here to visit Chicago. There's a train stop just outside the park but it takes around an hour and a half to get to the city. The park itself is really nice with a beach

Beautiful and well kept. Friendly staff. We stayed here to visit Chicago and it was a little too far out. Great spot for camping.

Super Beach, went swimming in late September!! Friendly staff. Sites kinda of close together. Wished I could have stayed 2 days, but had to get back on the road.

Cute park with amazing beach

The beach is amazing here, very beautiful and peaceful if you head away from the swimming area. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the beach. The campground is a little crowded if it is a busy day, but very worth it for the beach. Skip the showers at the campground, and take one when you are at the beach. They are much nicer over there.

Comfortable

Great hiking, friendly staff and nice camping area. Comfort stations have softened on demand hot water. Water for trailers smells like sulfur so park near washrooms. Close to the South Shore commuter train station. Go early for express trains to Chicago Randolph Street Station. Lake is beautiful but undertow kept us out of the water. Will visit again.

3 night stay
By user-6350080... on 2019-08-09.
We stayed here to visit Chicago. Weather kept us indoors, but did get to visit the beach just to check it out. If you're planning to visit CHI, the Dune Park Station is close with plenty of parking available in two big lots. Expect at least 1 to 1.5 hrs to get where you're going. Senior rate was $4.50 to Mellinium Station. We retuned during rush hour and was surprised at the light travel.

Nice place close to the beach
By user-5980687... on 2019-08-09.
About half mile from the beach. Sleep quiet and nicely. Be aware... a lot of mosquitos! My advise will be to fullfill your fresh water tank on site before you go to your site. Sites only have electricity.

Terrific State Park

Stayed 2019-05-05 to 2019-05-09
Shady sites. Some more level than others. Good water pressure but very hard water. Access to amazing hikes and beaches. Spacious sites. Good Verizon service. Will definitely return.

Gorgeous state park!

All sites paved and all looked to be back-in; had to ride bike to large, clean bathhouse but there was a vaulted toilet directly across from site; nice bike trail to the beach and visitor's center; train depot to Chicago right next to visitor's center; leashed dogs allowed on dunes trails and throughout rest of park; lots of places to walk dogs and run, if any energy left after 3 Dune Challenge! Be aware you have to pay $12 park entry fee in addition to camp site fee!
