Nice clean park. Location is great for access to all of the area sites. One word of caution; there is a small pond in the park that's home to lots of geese. Lots of geese droppings on the road, campsites and grass near the pond. If I were to stay here again I would request a site away from the pond.

Nice park. Quick access to the loop. Lots of commercial traffic at exit off loop. Front side of park (1-24) can be noisy. But the back side was nice. Pull through lots (49-86) are kinda thin but plenty long. (87-105) are a bit wider. I liked the back in spots best (38-48) They are wide and close to facilities. If you can get slots 43-48 park traffic is no problem. Price increase to $36/night $220/wk brings this park in line with others in area. (They used to be the cheapest.) Laundry room/shower is near office and not close to any spots. Laundry price is $1.75/wash $1.50/dry. Men's room has 2 sinks, 2 toilets, 2 showers. (1 Handicap accessible) Bathroom was usually clean, but the open bay showers were not awesome...Hope you wear shower shoes.

The people were very friendly but the sites are very very close together and there is a lot of interstate noise. While there are some trees and grass, and a small lake, this is not at all a scenic location. Close to Indianapolis though.

We stayed one night to rest up. We arrived just after 6PM and the office was closed, but there was an envelope with instructions to find our site. The park is pretty large with 137 RV sites. We were in the “transient” pull-thru area which was large but not level and was crushed stone with some green grass at your front door. This area of the park seemed new as the FHU’s were new. Also, it was a bit of a maze to get to our site. We were given a map with a line drawn for us to follow, but still, the map was a little hard to follow. Luckily I didn’t get “lost” in the park. Oh, by the way, the entrance is an immediate right after you turn onto West Edgewood Avenue. You’ll see their big sign on the corner, take the right just after their sign. And the parking area is really insufficient for RV’s and especially fifth wheels. It’s like parking in front of the dentist, you have to back up to then enter the park (around the office). It’s a pretty quiet area but we did hear a train in the evening. Not too bothersome though. The Wi-Fi was good, no PW though (Open). I would stay again.

Stayed here multiple times (May 2012, Sep 2013 & Nov 2014) Level sites, good amenities, and great management.

We have been here almost a month (our reservation was June 1-30, 2016). The staff was very pleasant when we checked in. We have a 50 amp hookup and the electric and water have been constant and good pressure. Sites are a little close, but very well kept (mowed weekly). Good neighbors and quiet, even though behind the fire station and beside US 37.

We stayed in a 40' 5th wheel in pull through site. Pretty level. Our only issue was parking our pickup when we had neighbors as sites are a little close. Nice park. Lots of rocks for pets to pee on. Well maintained. Heard trains but didn't keep us awake. Friendly office staff gave us map of surrounding area. Didn't hear any interstate noise. We stayed in spot 50. Good amenities and right next door to fire dept. Would stay here again if in the area. Best to make a reservation as we couldn't get in on the day we wanted which was a Saturday. Also, pay for 6 nights, get 7th free.

Nice campground but our site was next to the road a lot of noise & train. 50 amp service with p/t level. Price was good for $32.64

This is a very nice park. It is clean and safe and spaces are large and level. We will stay here again.

Nice location off of I74. Paved interior roads, appears to be relatively new. Gravel level sites very crowded. Utilities for pull-thru guest not convenient. Sites are arranged one, one way and the other the opposite way with center utilities. Had to run all my extra water & sewer hoses and both lengths of cable. I also had to crawl under my neighbor's slide to connect the water.

Near the end of a 14,000 mile trip to Alaska and return to NC. 36' class A towing a car. I have stayed in more than 100 RV parks, and never a problem til now. Requested a pull thru site. Was told only pull thru available was electric only...I agreed. Get there after hours, receipt and map were very unclear. Called park emergency #. "Sarah" offered to have maintenance guy to guide me. Discovered that "pull thru" site was a gravel overflow lot next to a shed, and only backing in was going to work. When I complained, "Sarah" insulted me by offering my money back, knowing that they're the only campground nearby. Then sent her husband to bang on my door, purportedly to get my side of the story. His folded arms and defensive posture told me otherwise. When I related my complaint, he said he would give me my money back, but wanted me to leave. I said the sheriff would need to do that. He said ok, and a deputy soon appears telling me that it was private property and hubby had the right to evict me. I left and stayed at a Walmart nearby. Appalling behavior...this couple obviously have a mutual chip on their shoulder. Will never go back, and will copy this report to every review site I can find.

Great staff. I called ahead about 1 hour before arriving and there was an after-hours number to call. The spaces are gravel, which was nice because it helped me keep my camper clean and level. There is also a grass area beside the gravel. Good Internet. Great prices. I will definitely be back.

Easy access to the 465 and Indy. Nothing fancy here. The interior roads are rough, sites are gravel, reasonably level, with good access to ESW, and clean laundry room considering all of the full time residents. We stayed in our 38 motorhome with a tow.

Easy access from freeway. Gravel sites, fairly level. Quiet park considering how full it is with permanent residents. Clean laundry and shower rooms.

We like the location for spending a month every summer to visit family and friends in the area. Paved main road and gravel sites with grass strips in between. A laundry and restrooms are clean. The office staff has always been friendly. We're in a 40' motorhome.

Nice level spaces, friendly staff. Not a lot of shade and neighbors are real close.

Affordable park with decent sites that are good for exploring the Indy area. The sites are ground up asphalt and organized in a back to back pull through organization where you share a common hook up area with your neighbor. The sites are very close together with a small grass area and picnic table in the passenger side living area. We did not check out the bathrooms or laundry area. The wifi, however, worked.

While I wouldn't recommend a lengthy stay, Haven Retreat was suitable for the night. With it being right in the city, there are advantages and disadvantages. Everything is close by, but you don't feel like your camping in the woods.

Lake Haven Retreat is in southern Indianapolis, Indiana, technically Greenwood. We stayed there from February 15th through March 30th. The weather ranged from a frigid 3 degrees and windy to snow, then some days in the high 40s and overnights near freezing the last couple of weeks. We actually had a day in the high 60s just before leaving. Normally, we wouldn t have been there that time of year; but we had a family emergency. Our space (#109) was up against the back of the property, along the tree-lined fence. On the other side is a large field, so we were protected from most of the urban noises. We didn t see much of the neighbors due to the weather, but they were smiling and waving when we did. The spaces are fairly close not so tight that you have to worry about slides or awnings hitting each other, but not hugely spacious either. Most are set to be utility to utility, so you have some good front yard space between each other. They have 50 amp throughout the park and the water spigots were insulated. In fact they were full or nearly full the whole time we were there, so they must be used to prepping for winter temperatures. There is a nice laundry room and the women s bathroom was very clean with two showers. The laundry is used as an emergency shelter, as is the basement of the house (the office). The warning sirens were easily heard and the local fire department shares a property line with the park. They have a gate that uses swipe cards, which you re given upon check-in; though it s one of those single arm gates that someone desperate enough with a big enough truck could plow through and people could also just drive around it if they have a 4x4 or big enough truck/SUV. Even so, we felt very safe at this park and the staff/owner were very friendly and happy for a quick chat when you pick up mail or packages. There are no resort type amenities, such as a pool, tennis courts, et cetera; but the property itself is nice to walk with a central small lake frequented by ducks and geese, an enclosed dog run, and picnic tables and fire pits scattered around the lake. Lake Haven is on the edge of a commercial/industrial area of Indianapolis, but the surrounding trees, the grass and the lake make a nice little bubble of nature. We can imagine Lake Haven would be even better in warmer months with the leaves on the trees and people socializing around the lakeside campfires. Greenwood shopping areas are just a few minutes away where you can find local restaurants, pharmacies, organic grocers, and most of the big box stores. If it s not in the local area, you can probably find it within a 10-20 minute drive. Overall, we feel Lake Haven provides good value for what they provide and would happily return there when visiting Indianapolis in the future.

Stayed for a week while heading north - Nice paved entrance but zig-zagging made it difficult for big-rigs. Lots of pot holes once past the entrance. Long, site - not real level - needed extra wood under stabilizers. Grassy areas with playgrounds, Staff was nice when we needed interaction.

This is our second stay at this park and we were happy to see that they are working on improvements. The park has many long term residents in the more developed part of the park and the shorter term residents in what looks like a newer section. The short term section has new fencing and small bushes recently planted to help delineate the sites. The sites and roads are still gravel and ground up asphalt organized in a shared hook up area with your neighbor. The park has working wifi, good bathroom/showers and laundry and a large open filed and playground area next to their fishing lake.
