Closest campground to lower Manhattan. W/E sites and dump station. Tough roads coming into the area. Pavement everywhere, no grass. Easy access to the city by ferry or the Path rail. The Statue of Liberty is so close you can almost reach out and touch it.

Location is very convenient to go to new york city. Water taxi is a 15 minute walk and the subway is a 25 minutes walk.

Although this is really your only option if you want to be close to Manhattan. It's a very dirty park and your trailers are practically touching each other. For $90/night it's a complete ripoff. We were given spot A1 which wasn't a spot but rather they had us park beside their office building. Our electric cord could barely reach the box and they expected us to use their nasty hose to connect our water hose to the neighbors water as our spot didn't have a working water spout. They said they couldn't move us but there were open spots all week, we were fine with moving twice but they didn't offer that.

When we were driving through the city while enroute my initial thoughts of the surroundings was that I was making a big mistake. Once we turned off the main st to the RV park it went from a congested city to one that reminded me of Newport, RI.
We can see huge private boats mooring and leaving the harbor. The view of Ellis Island and the the back of the Statue of Liberty was awesome. It's not a pretty lot, it serves a purpose of water/electric but the views of the NYC skyline are incredible. The bathrooms were clean and the staff were accommodating.
This is not a typical camping site as it's devoid of grass and trees etc. For it's location it is quiet. If you're looking for the a typical camping experience this is not the place...if you're looking for a great value of staying in or near NYC this is definitely the place.

Friendly and helpful staff. Dump, fresh water, laundry, and showers are all here. Close to subway PATH station to go to NYC. Right at the Marina with views of skyline and Statue of Liberty. Very much urban camping.

It's a convenient location to visit NYC, although the drive there is a bit hectic. It's pretty cramped, but everyone is happy to get a spot. When you check in you get a nice packet of information including maps and subway & ferry routes. We bought a metro card so we could come and go on the PATH subway over to the World Trade Center, and it works on the NYC subways and buses. My main complaint was the code on the women's restroom. I was careful to enter the right code, but it wouldn't open. I tried several more times and gave up. Another gal came by in her robe and she couldn't get it to work either. She needed a restroom so I stood guard while she used the Men's restroom. When I called security (it was a weekend) she told me if someone accidentally entered the wrong code, the door will remain locked for 20 minutes! She had no key and no way to open it. So the entire campground was locked out of the restroom just because someone entered the wrong code! I was able to use it successfully the following day, and it was a decent facility, but it's a very faulty system!

Make sure you record a video of you signing on the check out sheet! We left early in the morning and are absolutely sure that we've signed the sheet. But they called us later in the day saying we didn't and are going to charge me for that.

Small gravel spot, quick to NYC

12 minute walk to PATH subways to the city. Construction made in/out road bad.
Super small gravel site makes this just a place to put your RV while you go see the sights. It's good for that. You have to drive to a dump station for your sewer.
Staff was friendly during our very simple interactions.
Four stars mainly because it's so convenient to the city and the expectation is that this isn't a campground in the typical sense. You're not coming here to enjoy nature.
$90 per night during summer.

Industrial "Camping"

It gets 2 stars because we're lucky to have an option like this (otherwise it would have to be 1).
You're packed cheek to jowl in essentially a gravel parking lot but there's water and electric at most sites and a dump station on property.
The security guards were friendly and helpful.
Don't count on actually SEEING anything from your site but then that's now why you would come here. You come here because it's close to NYC.
Subway and the main ferry into NY is about 15 minutes walking or 4 minutes to get to the Wall Street Ferry. That's convenient for NYC.
Internet is nearly useless. Much of the time it was too slow (ping and download) to even look at static web pages. But then, that's not why you come here! Just don't come thinking you'll get work done if work depends on an internet connection.
The dump station had lots of standing water when we went there and again when we left. It was bad enough that we didn't use it again.
Appropriately expensive ($90). Enjoy this while it lasts--given land values per sq foot I question whether this will be here in 5 years.

Pros: probably one of the only places on an RV hard to find area
CONS: price is around 120 a night (taxes included)for a motor home spot.
It is not aligned plus it's gravel. ( It was impossible to align ) must put wood bricks on the floor to sit the anchors.
No light, some street lights close by give u some light.
Right in the water so the ocean breeze is super strong (in winter everything froze)
Water was shut off for the winter season.(understandable)
But restrooms water was freezing , after calling the night guy he said he is not paid to resolve those problems.
Hot Water was off for 3 days.(out of 5 that we stayed)
Office did not offer a credit nor an apology.
Restrooms are dirty, water drips form the ceiling.
Very creepy place at night as there are 3 or 4 different things (business) going on there.
No cable. Wife is the worst, never worked.
During day there s a lot of noise due to metal work in the premises.
No Wal-Mart or big grocery store around ,only some small shops (difficult even to find bread , water or meat)

Closer RV Park to NYC

We wanted to visit NYC and this really is the best place to go. The PATH Station and ferry landing are both just a short walk away which was perfect. Took the ferry one day to go to the Statue of Liberty ferry and PATH to go into the city the other days. We could even see the Statue of Liberty from our campsite, which was perfect the night they had they did fireworks. The security guards were super friendly and helpful especially when trying to get the boat lifts around trucks and such. Alivia, Lauren & Ines are simply the best with lots of helpful resources. They had bathrooms, showers & amenities and laundry but we didn’t use those. They also have a dump station. No bells and whistles and a little on the pricey side but it was exactly what we expected as we are basically parked in a marina parking lot. However, it was a perfect location for city visiting.

This campground is so close to the NYC. With a 15 minute metro ride you are at World Trade Center. The campground is located right on the harbor and close to plenty of resturants and grove street. Couldn't be more convenient!!
However this is literally a parking lot so do not expect to have any ammentities. The purpose of this campground is simply a place to sleep with water, heat or ac! The bathrooms are not the cleanest but they do have hot water and hard water pressure.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful. In regards to the $40.00 fee if you do not sign out is explained when you check in. It was explained to us first thing. Simply sign this clip board stating you have checked out and you won't be charged the 40.00!
We would for sure stay again because of the location!

We had a great time, you can't believe how easy it is to get to NYC. The spaces are tight but had plenty of room for our 33 ft trailer and truck. Great area, safe and short walk to the subway. Staff was friendly and helpful, the bathhouses were clean. I Recomend this campground and will return.

I read a million reviews about this park and they re all the same. It s basically a parking lot with hook ups. That is exactly what we got. Because it s what I expected, we were pleasantly surprised that the views from the site are more impressive in person than in pictures. Easy check in, huge overflow parking for our trailer, quiet at night, 24/7 security. Overall very happy with our two night stay in the big city.

I must keep it real in life. This place was definitely very gratifying considering it's right in a city. How many RV Parks are in cities 1st and foremost. They delivered good service at the front desk, well kept grounds very suitable for the city and close transportation to ferries and train services. They clearly say RV Park and not RV Campground for a reason; it's in the city folks and it's primary goal is to give us access to NYC they deliver strong on all these points. Water, electricity, dump, and quietness at night what more can you ask. We were squeezed rather tightly but still had room for awning and slides. Oh and cannot forget security guards at night. Keep up the good work Liberty we'll be back for certain.
