Pricey but nice
By user-5804917... on 2017-10-23.
We stayed here many years ago and it was reasonable but with time like most good things the price goes up.
I would have stayed here in June but their RV sites were beyond my reach. I love the layout and location but it was beyond my pocketbook...
Plus they didn't have anything available for the week we had planned to be there...

Big Park
By user-5872684... on 2017-10-23.
Stayed 2016-05-24 to 2016-06-06
The park is pretty much located in the middle of the Black Hills. I was given a back in spot for my 42' 5th wheel. I was given a gravel spot with grass on either side, a picnic table and fire/cooking ring. Site was easy to get in and plenty wide enough. Utilities were good except the wi-fi is really slow and the TV channels are very limited.
The store here has just about any type of food and supplies you need for Rving.
To do laundry is expensive, but the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers make up for it. Everything looks taken care of and the staff is friendly. Park was starting to fill up for Memorial Day weekend.
Would definitely stay here again.

Not coming back
By user-5888449... on 2017-10-23.
Don't buy propane here. They over charge and really don't know what they're doing. Highest we have ever paid and the guy was very unfriendly.
What a beautiful setting and park and so badly managed.
We got only 2 tv stations yet they advertise tv. Wi-Fi was not available where we were.

Awesome RV park

This RV park is huge and has beautiful views. It's off the highway with large trees and big sites. One of the best parks we have stayed at. We have 43' 5th-wheel and site was long enough for our truck and camper. The wi-fi was okay.

Nice park. Lots of space.
By user-5882730... on 2017-10-23.
Huge meadows with deer after dark. Lots of space per campsite. Nice pool, very clean. Some spots in trees and some open for big rigs. Would stay here again. We are here for 3 nights. 6 miles north of Crazy Horse Memorial. Also Black Hills Playhouse has great summer theater. Gravel interior roads but good ones and level sites back in sites. Not sure about pull throughs.
We are 45 ft and towing.
By user-5880084... on 2017-10-23.
Awful costumer service on the phone. He sounded very put out that we called to make a reservation via their "reservation line." It was so bad I had to ask who I was speaking to... . We've stayed at this campground years ago and thought it was good. But we will be staying elsewhere this go around.

Great place
By user-6656189... on 2017-10-23.
A little pricey but worth it. Spend the extra $10 to stay here. Here for 2 nights early May. Not all areas open but all spacey with good grass. Stayed base camp area. Choose meadow where 42 ft go for best meadow views. Wifi good and easy. Again for sure

Spacious, expensive.
By user-6258161... on 2017-10-23.
Just pulled into this wide resort. The spots are arranged around a wide meadow with ample space between the "subdivisions" and campers within the beautiful black hills. Depending on where your site is you may or may not hear the road, get a Wi-Fi connection or not, make it to the bath house in time...
Nice pool and hot tub in the center of it, again maybe quote a walk to get to. We paid $66 for the Saturday night.

Supports tents to Rvs. Room to breath and a giant meadow to walk the dog. "Camps" at the edge of the meadow, sitting in the trees. Away from the Highway. Room to breath

We stayed here for one night, will definitely stay here again, awesome place, wish we'd had more time to spend here, nice wide open areas, plenty of room, great camp sites, park is on high ground so no flooding when it rains. Owner was waiting for us to get there, we came in late due to weather and he waited for us to get us into our site since it was dark.

Pricey
By user-5888449... on 2017-10-23.
Staff was not the friendliest. Park is in a beautiful setting. We were parked close to the highway and the noise was bad during the day.
Only a very few tv stations and where we were and no wifi.
For the price we could have had more services.
Laundry was the highest priced we paid. on our trip. Would stay elsewhere next time.

Rafter - J Ranch
By user-6261724... on 2017-10-23.
We were there for one week this summer. Beautiful location in the Black Hills. Clean, spacious, and well maintained sites. Definitely recommend as a base camp for Mt Rushmore, Custer monument, Custer State Park, Deadwood, etc, etc, etc. We are already planning a return visit.

Lots of open space, many sites in multiple areas, beautiful trees, centrally located and secluded. Family friendly. Opened May 1st for the season, used Good Sam discount to get the $51.00 per night price.

Beautiful setting

Stayed 2018-05-05 to 2018-05-07
Good location just past Hill City. Of the highway in pretty, wooded area. Only one area open at this time early in the season. Advertised cable, which was poor and only about 4 to 5 stations. No satellite or over the air reception in base camp. No Wi-Fi in our site.
Nice facilities like basketball and volleyball. Did not use showers, etc.
Hookups were good and located well.

One of the best.!

This is probably the cleanest campground we’ve ever camped at. It’s close to everything and has a nice store onsite. Don’t miss taking the bus tour and dinner show at Fort Hayes. Forget driving to Mount Rushmore, The Narrated bus tour is far more inclusive and it’s a great value

Great place. We will be back.

This place is awesome. From the staff to the location to the campsite. First class all the way. Right in the middle of everything the black hills have to offer. The family and I will be back no doubt.

Excellent Sites and well kept ... Bait & Switch?
By user-6040072... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2018-07-29 to 2018-08-04
We stayed for 3 nights on our own and 3 nights with our RV caravan group. When I called 10 weeks, before our arrival. I explained that we were coming early before the RV caravan. Our intent was to set up once and enjoy the 6 days here, that did not happen. We were placed on a 50 amp site for the 1st 3 nights and had to move to a 30 amp site for the next 3 days. While 30 amp sites sat vacant, the whole time we were here. I should mention that the 50 amp site was $10 more per night ... not sure if that had anything to do with our placement. The pancake breakfast is amazing! The grounds and amenities are well maintained. Not sure if we would stay again.
